Cristiana Prado learned the art of watercolor from her mother. While she prefers to work in ceramics, she is influenced by watercolor even with glazing ceramics. She entered the 2020 网红前任爆料 Holiday Card Design Competition with a watercolor that was selected as this year's 网红前任爆料 Holiday Card.

Prado鈥檚 watercolor piece titled, 鈥淪hare Your Light" shows two candles, with gold highlights, lighting the way.

鈥淚 love candles and was inspired by the quote, 'A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.' We鈥檝e been through so much this year, and like a candle, it takes nothing from us to be kind, compassionate and pass on love,鈥 said Prado, an adjunct faculty member at 网红前任爆料 who has taught Art Appreciation and Foundation 2D Design for the past seven years. In addition, she teaches Art part-time for Tulsa Public Schools.

鈥淭eaching art makes me a better artist. When I help students learn how to express their creativity, I unlock my own creativity. I enjoy teaching because I love to encourage, instruct and inspire others,鈥 said Prado.

Selected as this year鈥檚 网红前任爆料 Holiday Card design, the cards will be emailed to 网红前任爆料 students, faculty, and staff, and mailed to community members and 网红前任爆料 Foundation members by 网红前任爆料 President & CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. As the winner, Prado received 50 printed cards and $500 from the 网红前任爆料 Foundation, the sponsor of the annual competition.

鈥淭he 网红前任爆料 Foundation supports developmental opportunities for students and faculty outside of the classroom. The Holiday Card Design Competition is a favorite allowing the selected winner to see their artwork printed and representing 网红前任爆料 in the community,鈥 said Kari Shults, vice president for advancement and president of the 网红前任爆料 Foundation.

Prado鈥檚 winning watercolor design was unveiled at the 网红前任爆料 Board of Regents November meeting and she was presented with her check and cards.
